EMMA VIDAL

Emma is a 9 year old, fun, loving, very active girl. She lives in Aledo, TX and attends Vandagriff Elementary. She enjoys taking care of all the baby animals on the ranch and has tried just about every sport you can think of. She loves school, her favorite subject is math.

On February 21st Emma was taken to Cook Children’s with stroke like symptoms. A team of amazing doctors came to work on Emma and ruled out a stroke but they knew something wasn’t right. She was admitted and scheduled for more testing. By the next evening they had a diagnosis of Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. Emma was placed in a high risk category due to the leukemia cells being in her spinal fluid and damaging her optic nerves. She is responding very well to chem treatments so far. By the 3rd treatment, she had ZERO leukemia cells in her spinal fluid. She sometimes gets frustrated because her vision is so limited now. The doctors say it will be 5 to 6 months before they know if the vision will return. Treatment will be 3 years. Please join us this year in support of Emma and her family.
